Buyer /Research & Development Co-Ordinator

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Buyer/ Research & Development Co-ordinator to join this highly successful organisation.

Your main role is to assist the Research & Development Manager by taking responsibility for all purchasing enquiries, both for new products and for better or alternative suppliers for existing ranges, and to help progress the development of new products.

Your main duties will be:

• Look for, and work with new suppliers
• Look for opportunities to improve buying prices
• Ensure continuous supply of existing ranges
• Investigate alternative manufacturing procedures e.g. outsourcing to Europe
• Work closely with the Research & Development Manager to facilitate continuous progress on  current projects

The successful applicant must be practically minded and have a technical understanding.

You will have a confident telephone manner, and be capable of evaluating a potential supplier, and be committed to persist with projects, to see each one through to completion.

You will also be required to be in contact with designers, prototype makers and manufacturers, in taking projects forward.
