Head of Sales - Travel

HEAD OF SALES 

We are currently looking for an energetic and motivated HEAD OF SALES with a proven track record in driving sales to manage this Client’s growing UK sales team.  The business offers exclusive and bespoke, niche holidays from unique getaways and  too-good-to-miss travel experiences, to some of the most exciting holiday destinations worldwide.

The  business is one of the fastest growing specialist travel providers in the marketplace here in the UK.  It operates in a niche section of the travel industry and enjoys an enviable position.  It continues to demonstrate its agility and outstanding customer service to its established and growing client base. 

 

Description

 

Working with a passionate Sales team, this position is key and pivotal in assisting the Board in achieving their ambitious goals in sustaining and growing the current impressive growth rate.  Reporting directly into the MD, the successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day management of the sales team ensuring that they are supported, motivated, managed and measured. 

 

This is a critical hire to the business and the successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic sales plan and will have clearly defined yet achievable sales targets.  This role will have the opportunity to sit on the Main Board to further influence the direction of the client and enhancing their own career. 

 

The candidate: 

 

You will have day to day functional responsibility for the sales team which will include:

 

  • Develop DMO (Destination Marketing organisation) sales plan for the business;
  • Create accurate monthly sales forecasts and deliver the revenue targets in line with targets, objectives and agreed sales strategy;
  • Build solid relationships with the existing client base for both existing and projected travel opportunities;
  • Work closely with the client base to increase the understanding of their travel requirements and build the mechanisms that will enable the team to cross sell other opportunities/services that the business offers;
  • Work with and support the team in their daily activities, ensuring all KPI’s are adhered to;

 

This is a scant outline of the key areas of the role. 

 

It is unlikely that the successful candidate will have less than 10 years experience within a target driven sales environment,  more latterly gained from a similar, senior, strategic role;

 

You should possess excellent prospecting and negotiating skills, have strong proven leadership capability, be innovative, team orientated, collaborative, well educated and be the next generation of brilliance.

Although it is not essential that you have experience of the travel sector it  would be viewed as beneficial.
